The 2025 Nissan Murano release date is set for early winter 2025.
Even as a mid-cycle enhancement, many notable redesigns are coming to the new Nissan Murano, including:
Revamped exterior design with a wider and sportier body
New VC-Turbo® engine and nine-speed automatic transmission
New HD dual displays and flatter bottom steering wheel for easier entering
New "Murano Glass" dashboard trim that color shifts with the surrounding light

The 2025 Nissan Murano SUV will have three trims with no announced pricing and select configurations per level:
SV: $42,000 MSRP (est.) with standard AWD and FWD
SL: $45,000 MSRP (est.) with standard AWD
Platinum: $48,000 MSRP (est.) with standard AWD
The 2025 Nissan Murano SV is the entry-level trim with expected pricing to start at $42,000 MSRP. While the SV is the base-level trim, it's equipped with many sought-after amenities.
The SV's features include:
20-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels with Gloss Black aero covers
Six-speaker sound system
Power liftgate
Active Noise Cancellation
ProPILOT Assist driver assistance technology
NissanConnect® with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto compatibility™ and wireless phone charging
Some changes from the 2024 Murano SV to the 2025 models include a larger touchscreen (8 to 12 inches) and bigger 20-inch wheels (previously 18 inches).
The SV has plenty of standard features and valuable capabilities in a mid-size crossover SUV for drivers with a lower budget.
Next up in the 2025 Murano lineup is the SL trim, with expected pricing to start at $45,000 MSRP. The SL shares some of the same offerings as the SV, like the power liftgate, Active Noise Cancellation, and wireless phone charging.
The SL's features include:
20-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels with Gun Metallic aero covers
Standard 10-speaker Bose stereo system (available in the SV)

The only trim-specific change from the 2024 SL is the previously optional panoramic moonroof that became standard in 2025.
The SL is the perfect Goldilocks medium for drivers looking to upgrade from the entry-level SV offerings without investing in the highest-level Platinum trim.

The 2025 Nissan Murano Platinum is the top-level trim, with expected pricing to start at $48,000 MSRP. The Platinum shares some of the same standard amenities as the SV, like the panoramic moonroof, 10-speaker Bose stereo system, and 64-color customizable ambient LED lighting.
The Platinum's features include:
21-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels with Gloss Black aero covers
Trim-exclusive motion-activated powered tailgate (non-motion-activated in other trims)
Trim-exclusive standard heating and cooling massaging front seats (a Murano first)
Trim-exclusive head-up display (unavailable in other trims)
Trim-exclusive power-folding outside mirrors (unavailable in other trims)
Trim-exclusive automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers (unavailable in other trims)
Trim-specific changes from the 2024 Platinum include a replaced wheel color (Dark Hype Silver to Gloss Black) and one less Bose speaker (11 to 10).
The Platinum trim is perfect for drivers who want the peak of luxury in the 2025 Murano lineup.

Its interior was also refreshed, with thinner front seats that accommodate almost another inch more legroom in the rear. An upgraded center console design was included for additional storage. A new customizable 64-color ambient lighting system and Zero Gravity seats were added to improve cabin comfort.
The new Nissan Murano features advanced interior technologies, including:
Available AWD system that consistently monitors road conditions and quickly responds to improve traction
Dual 12.3-inch touchscreen displays with a new "Murano Glass" dashboard trim, customizable live wallpaper, and Google integration
10-speaker premium Bose stereo system (available or standard on select trims)
Three new interior color themes were introduced for 2025 models:
Blue Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments
Graphic Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments
Gray Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments
The new Nissan Murano will have one engine option, a new VC-Turbo® producing up to 241hp and 260 lb-ft of torque-replacing the former 3.5L V-6. While the horsepower decreased from 260hp to 241hp, it boosts in torque from 240 lb-ft to 260 lb-ft. The 2025 Models also receive a new nine-speed automatic transmission, replacing last year's CVT.
The 2025 Nissan Murano gas mileage combined remains the same for FWD and AWD models at 23mpg. However, city mileage increases from 20mpg to 23mpg but decreases on highway mileage from 28mpg to 24 mpg.
The new Nissan Murano can tow up to 1,500 lbs when equipped with the Tow Hitch Receiver Kit, four-pin Trailer Tow Harness, and a Hitch Ball Class I or II. Payload ratings aren't available yet for the 2025 models. We predict this to remain around the same at 1,209 lbs maximum.
The 2025 Nissan Murano SUV underwent several redesigns to improve safety for drivers and passengers.
A new under-seat support was added to strengthen crash safety for rear passengers. The side view mirrors were repositioned from the outer doors to expand forward visibility for drivers. The 2025 models also added a passenger knee airbag, seatbelt load limiters, and pre-tensioners for rear-seat passengers.
In addition to updated safety-focused designs, the 2025 Murano has many safety and driver assistance technologies, including:
Standard Safety Shield 360 with six features across all trims:
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
Blind Spot Warning
High Beam Assist
Lane Departure Warning
Rear Automatic Braking
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Available ProPILOT Assist that integrates Intelligent Cruise Control for lane-keeping, steering, and decelerating assistance on curves-it even automatically changes the set speed based on speed limit signs it detects!
HD Enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) that virtually renders a 360-degree bird's eye view of your SUV in 3D for easier parking and visibility (standard on the SL and Platinum, available on the SV)
Safety ratings aren't available for the 2025 Murano. We speculate these to remain the same or improve due to the newest safety-focused enhancements, with an expected five-star overall NHTSA safety rating to carry over.
The 2025 Nissan Murano SUV is worth buying as a complete redesign with a lower price than a newly produced vehicle. From a revamped interior/exterior to a replaced powertrain and improved offerings from 2024, each trim suits many driving lifestyles.
Even before its release, major automotive publications have praised the new Nissan Murano.
Edmunds stated its "spiffy new powertrain, upgraded tech, and an improved interior could be just what Murano needs to be truly competitive."
J.D. shared that "Nissan takes the heavily refreshed 2025 Murano upscale….giving the popular crossover SUV a personality makeover."
If you're searching for a new mid-size crossover SUV, the 2024 Murano is a valuable investment.
