2025 Nissan Rogue vs. Toyota RAV4 Verdict: The Rogue Rides Ahead Because of Its Standard Lineup Offerings

The RAV4 or Rogue-which SUV reigns supreme? In our 2025 Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4 comparison, the Rogue comes out on top because of its more accessible standard offerings throughout their lineup.

The RAV4 doesn't have a customizable digital gauge cluster except for the top-level Limited trim, which many SUV drivers can't always afford, while the Rogue has this standard in all trims. Additionally, the Limited doesn't have a standard moonroof (only the XLE Premium), which should be included in the top-level luxury trim, while the Rogue Platinum has this as standard.

The RAV4's foot power-activated liftgate isn't standard, as you must upgrade to an optional package. Although you can get a smart key entry power liftgate, you must upgrade to upper-level XLE Premium or Limited trims--which is standard in the lower-level SV trim and up for the Rogue.

Although not compared here, the RAV4 also doesn't offer an off-road-designed trim, while the Rogue introduced an all-new Rock Creek Edition meant for rugged driving.

While the RAV4 has more cargo capacity, a higher payload rating, and a bigger audio system on upper-level luxury trims, while sharing the same towing capacity and NHTSA safety ratings as the Rogue, you miss out on many standard features, depending on the model you choose.
