2026 Nissan Rogue Release Date

The 2026 Nissan Rogue release date hasn't been fully revealed yet. Non-hybrid models are expected to go on sale in late 2025, as Nissan plans to build over 172,000 Rogues at its Smyrna, Tennessee, plant for the fiscal year ending on March 31st, 2026.

The hybrid model variants are scheduled to arrive in late 2025, per their FY2024 third-quarter financial results announcement.

2026 Nissan Rogue Redesign Changes - What's New?

The 2026 Nissan Rogue won't be a redesign but a mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) with significant changes for this model year, including:
  • All-new plug-in hybrid variant

The Nissan-Honda alliance's new partnership with Mitsubishi Motors will heavily focus on electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving technologies, AI, and connectivity. The Rogue hybrid will be the first ever released for this model, with two variants revealed: the Rogue PHEV and Rogue e-Power.

However, the e-Power variant will not be offered in the refreshed 2026 Rogue models and will be available in the all-new 2027 Rogue models.

They announced the 2026 Nissan Rogue hybrid will use the same plug-in powertrain as the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid, a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and standard AWD. Based on the Outlander PHEV's specs, it should produce up to 248 hp, 144 lb.-ft. of torque, and 38 miles of EV range.

Teaser images show updated LED headlights and a similar silhouette to last year's body. We speculate that the available motion-activated liftgate and standard remote keyless entry to remain in 2026 models.

As an MCE model, the dimensions of the new Nissan Rogue should carry over with specs starting at: 183.0" L x 72.4" W (without mirrors) x 66.5" H and a 4.9" ground clearance.

2026 Nissan Rogue Engines, Performance, & Reliability

The 2026 Nissan Rogue engines are only shared for the PHEV variant. As mentioned, PHEV models will have the same 2.4L four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, a CVT, and standard AWD as the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander. It should output up to 248 hp, 144 lb.-ft. of torque, and 38 miles of EV range. We speculate faster acceleration times for PHEV variants than non-hybrid models.

For non-hybrid models, we expect the 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine and CVT to carry over-producing up to 201 hp and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. If this remains true, non-hybrid models with AWD should accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds and 8.0 seconds for FWD configurations.

2026 Nissan Rogue MPG Ratings

The 2026 Nissan Rogue gas mileage information is currently unavailable. We expect the MPG ratings to remain the same as last year's at 30 MPG city / 27 MPG highway for FWD configurations and 28 MPG city / 35 MPG highway for AWD.

The 2026 Nissan Rogue hybrid MPG ratings also aren't available yet. Based on the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV model specs, it may have the same 64 MPGe combined fuel economy rating.

2026 Nissan Rogue Towing Capacity & Payload Rating

The 2026 Nissan Rogue towing and payload rating specs haven't been released for PHEV or non-hybrid models. Based on the 2025 Rogue and 2025 Outlander specs, they should both tow up to 1,500 lbs when properly equipped.

Depending on the trim and configuration, the max payload rating may be the same as the 2025 Rogue's 1,166 lbs for non-hybrid models. Payload ratings aren't available for PHEV variants.

We believe all 2026 Rogue models will have some of the same or upgraded versions of current towing assistance technologies, including trailer sway control and rearview camera monitoring.

2026 Nissan Rogue Safety Ratings & Technology

Top-view interior image of a 2025 Nissan Rogue tan front seating area, infotainment system, and steering wheel
The 2026 Nissan Rogue safety ratings won't be available until release. We expect the NHTSA's perfect five-star overall safety rating to carry over from last year since the 2026 Rogue is a refreshed model.

As an MCE, the following advanced safety and driver assistance technologies should continue:
  • Safety Shield 360: A standard safety suite across the lineup, including blind spot warning, rear automatic braking, high beam assist, and more.
  • ProPILOT Assist 2.1: An available hands-and-feet-free autonomous driving system, including lane changes, adaptive freeway cruising, and more.
  • 3D Around View Monitor: An available 360-degree view camera system with 3D enhancement.
Since autonomous driving technologies and AI are among Nissan's electrification focuses, we speculate the following safety technology offerings for the 2026 Rogue:
  • Updated version of ProPILOT Assist with more optimized capabilities for city, highway, and daily driving
  • Improvements in the head-up display with more relevant vehicle information and easier windshield visibility
  • New autonomous and safety features, such as auto parking and advanced airbag deployment technology
